Job summary

Providence is seeking a Manager of Emergency Services to support the Director of Emergency Services at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. You will oversee clinical operations, implement quality improvement initiatives, and supervise staff orientation and training in the ED.

The role emphasizes daily staffing, payroll-related tasks, patient-centered care, and a culture of respect for all team members. A BSN or in-progress degree, RN license in WA, and BLS are required.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or in process and completed within 3 years of hire.
  • Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • 3 years experience in emergency, trauma, or critical care nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and support of assigned areas including quality improvement monitoring and assurance.
  • Supervise staff orientation and competency as developed by the Director.
  • Assist with payroll edits and daily staffing needs in the ED.
  • Conduct regular customer service rounds and operational activities as delegated.
  • Support staff education and ongoing professional development.

We are offering relocation support for eligible hires.

The Manager assists the Director of Emergency Services with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient care services for the Emergency Department at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. The manager provides clinical oversight and support of assigned areas including quality improvement and quality assurance monitoring, provides clinical staff education and staff competency monitoring, supervises staff orientation as developed by the Director, provides follow up with Datix – adverse event monitoring tool, anticipates department staffing needs on a daily basis, edits payroll, regularly performs customer service rounds, and other operational activities as delegated

Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Day shift

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, from an accredited educational institute, or in process and completed within 3 years of hire into position.
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 3 years experience in emergency, trauma, or critical care nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or Business
  • Upon hire: ACLS, PALS (must be AHA accredited)
  • Upon hire: TNCC Instructor status, or ability to achieve
  • A RN with 20 years of experience will not be required to obtain a BSN.
  • 2 years experience in a supervisory or charge nurse capacity

Pay Range: $60.82 - $96.01

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
