Job summary

Job description

Under the general direction of the Director, the nurse manager assumes 24-7 accountability for the operational and patient care management of assigned care areas. The Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who has a comprehensive understanding of leadership and patient care principles and applies those principles in evaluation of work performance and outcome standards. The Nurse Manager exhibits behaviors that enhance professional performance and reflect the key moral commitment, ethical principles, values and philosophy of PSHMC. Promotes staff productivity through a defined care delivery system, and facilitation of the professional practice model and governance structure. Participates in the development and implementation of marketing strategies for their particular service. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the selection and evaluation process of unit staff. S/he is accountable for integrating a performance assessment and improvement plan for the unit/service. Applies leadership skills and CQI principles when serving as a representative or chair on multidisciplinary committees, and Nursing Service Councils.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing.
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Upon hire: CNOR
  • 3 years Experience in Operating Room or procedural settings.
  • 2 years Leadership experience.

These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
