Andritz AG in the United States seeks a Manager – Electrical & Controls to lead a small automation engineering team and drive project management, technical leadership, and business development in the pulp & paper industry.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 8+ years in industrial automation, and strong leadership, communication, and North American standards knowledge; travel to domestic and international sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (required).
• Experience leading automation/controls teams in industrial settings.
• Minimum 8 years in industrial automation engineering, preferably consulting.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English).
• Practical knowledge of North American standards.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management, leadership, and technical guidance to a team of automation engineers and project stakeholders.
• Assign, coordinate, and review the technical work of project teams.
• Oversee project coordination to ensure accurate billing, time accounting, and financial reporting.
• Consult and negotiate with customers to prepare specifications, explain proposals, and present engineering reports.
• Lead large capital project development, including feasibility studies, scope definitions, preliminary designs, and cost estimates.
• Assist with assessment and development of opportunities in assigned industries/business areas.
• Support growth by executing sales growth strategies.
• Build and develop a team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Network with industry groups to establish company presence and reputation.
• Ensure activities adhere to company quality standards.
