Job summary

Richardson International’s U.S. Country Office in St. Louis, MO, seeks a Manager, Environment, Health & Safety to lead EH&S programs across the United States facilities.

Reporting to the AVP, Engineering Services and EH&S, you will drive regulatory compliance, safety culture, and continuous improvement. Travel to sites, deliver trainings, perform audits, develop procedures, and coordinate regulatory reporting (OSHA, EPA).

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years in occupational, environmental, health or safety roles.
• Strong knowledge of Federal & State regulations including OSHA and EPA requirements.
• Experience managing multi-site EH&S programs across locations.
• Degree or certificate in Occupational or Environmental Health & Safety.
• Pursuing a recognized EH&S designation (e.g., CSP) within 24 months.
• Experience in agribusiness, food processing, or manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise facility management on EH&S matters.
• Lead training programs to support regulatory compliance and safety culture.
• Perform facility audits and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Draft operating procedures aligned with corporate and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting (OSHA 300, State EPAs, etc.).
• Travel to North American sites to meet with managers and teams.

Reporting to the AVP, Engineering Services and EH&S, this position will provide support to Richardsons facility management teams, within the United States, to ensure they maintain and achieve compliance with their ongoing regulatory, industry, and corporate objectives.The position will lead the development, integration, delivery, and ongoing management of environmental, security, and health and safety initiatives by implementing effective programs and systems which monitor and promote a safe working environment, and regulatory and corporate compliance. In addition, the Manager, Environment, Health & Safety will actively represent Richardson International on applicable US-based industry committees and working groups and contribute to enhancing operational efficiencies.**Responsibilities:**Act as the primary advisor to the facility management teams within the United States on all EH&S-related subject mattersEnsure management (facility, business unit and corporate) is kept abreast on relevant EH&S matters pertaining to the assigned region(s) and / or business unit(s)Travel to each operating facility to meet onsite with facility managers, safety reps, and committees to determine EH&S-support priorities and needsDeliver and facilitate training programs and content, both in person and virtually to support regulatory compliance and development of safety culturePromote effective and efficient EH&S-related communications, via Safety Committee Meetings, Toolbox Talks, employee and contractor orientations, etc., to facilitate a safe and efficient working environmentPerform facility audits and inspections to evaluate the level of compliance with various regulatory, industry, and corporate standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvementLead the drafting of corporate and site-specific operating procedures and programs, considerate of Corporate and US regulatory standardsProvide proactive emergency planning assistance and incident response supportAssist with conducting incident investigations to identify and report on hazards and recommend corrective action(s) to ensure applicable reporting requirements are met consistentlyPartner with Human Resources and facility management on implementing effective Disability Management programs for workplace injuriesWork with sites to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all periodic regulatory reporting requirements (I.e. OSHA300, US BLS, State EPAs, etc.)Ensure all Federal, State and / or local government operating approvals are maintained in good standing and that facilities are working in accordance with these operating approvals to maintain complianceParticipate in strategic planning of annual objectives, goals and measurements as they apply to EH&S matters, in conjunction with the Department ManagerProactively liaise with applicable OHS-based industry associations to ensure the positions and interests of the agri-business and food processing sectors are appropriately communicated and considered in the development of industry best practices; andOther duties as assigned**Qualifications:**7 to 10 years of working experience in an occupational, environmental, health, safety or related roleStrong working knowledge of Federal & State workplace, health, and safety regulations with the ability to review and interpret legislationProven experience working with regulators to manage through worksite inspections, and citations with knowledge of Federal & State OSHA and EPA requirementsPrior experience managing multi-site/multi-jurisdiction EH&S programsSuccessful completion of a degree, diploma, or certificate program in Occupational or Environmental Health & SafetyPossess or are working towards a recognized EH&S designation (i.e. CSP) within 24 monthsExperience working within an agribusiness, food processing, and/or the manufacturing sector in both union and non-union environments would be an assetDemonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesDemonstrate proven adult education, facilitation and training skillsAbility to travel within North AmericaAt Richardson International, being truly invested is at the heart of everything we do.
