Job summary

Glidewell Dental in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety leader to develop and supervise programs ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will partner with business leaders to monitor performance, mitigate risk, and foster a safe workplace.

Responsibilities include directing training, audits, reporting, emergency preparedness, and coordinating with regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or related field.
• Minimum seven (7) years of Occupational Health & Safety experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of managerial experience.
• CSP designation or other safety related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and manages EH&S strategies and programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversees monitoring, auditing, and reporting to evaluate program performance and compliance outcomes.
• Develops training programs and materials aligned with compliance requirements.
• Manages emergency preparedness activities and vendor relationships.
• Ensures documentation and reporting requirements are maintained with federal, state, and local agencies.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health or related field

7+ years Occupational Health & Safety experience

3+ years managerial experience

CSP designation or safety certifications preferred

• Develops, implements, executes, and manages strategies, policies, goals, and objectives for all EH&S programs and compliance requirements.
• Oversees the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of monitoring, auditing, and reporting processes to evaluate program performance, effectiveness, and compliance outcomes.
• Develops training programs and materials, ensuring content remains current, effective, and aligned with organizational needs and compliance requirements.
• Develops and implements strategies, action plans, projects, and initiatives that supports compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with business, financial, and operational objectives.
• Maintains systems to ensure certifications and compliance efforts are documented, developed, and continuously improved.
• Oversees program activities to ensure timely completed and compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and laws.
• Evaluates occupational, injury, and environmental health data to identify risks and trends; recommends and implements solutions to support a safe and healthy work environment.
• Serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders to provide strategic guidance, solutions, and best practices to support compliance and risk mitigation efforts.
• Manages emergency preparedness activities, and vendor relationships.
• Develops hazardous material communications to promote employee awareness.
• Oversees compliance with applicable federal, state, and county public health regulations, including performing regular inspection activities, identifying health code violations, and partnering with stakeholders to implement timely corrective measures.
• Ensures Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Cal-OSHA, Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA), Fire Department and/or Air Quality Management District (AQMD), and other Federal and State required documentation and reporting requirements are maintained in collaboration with affected departments and facilities teams.
• Interfaces with all regulatory agencies for complaints, regulations, and/or compliance issues.
• Partners with various cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Collaborates with Worker’s Compensation team regarding workplace injury/safety investigations. May function as a First Responder for injuries.
• Establishes goals for team in accordance with company and division plan and vision.
• Manages and supports team members in areas of problem solving, decision making, process improvement, and professional growth in accordance with company policies.
• Ensures the team understands the performance standards of their department and has a clear understanding of their own individual performance.
• Ensures high productivity and adherence to turnaround time schedule by problem solving, motivating, and delegating.
• Makes recommendations on development of programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards for all Company facilities including remote sites; executes and maintains compliance of programs.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of existing and proposed changes in industrial health and safety regulations and legislation; proposes changes to existing Company programs to ensure continuing compliance.
• Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
