Gathr Outdoors seeks a Manager, Ecommerce Technology (Shopify) to lead hands-on Shopify development and integrations for its multiple ecommerce sites in Brentwood, TN. The role focuses on building reliable, scalable ecommerce solutions and collaborating with IT, Analytics, and external partners to drive growth.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in ecommerce tech, strong Shopify expertise, and experience with GA4, GTM, APIs, and ERP integrations. On-site work four days a week is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ecommerce technology or web development experience, including significant hands-on experience within the Shopify ecosystem.
• Strong working knowledge of Shopify and Shopify Plus, including development, customization, integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web development technologies.
• Experience working with APIs, webhooks, ecommerce integrations, and data flows between business systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex ecommerce platform issues and third‑party applications.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Gathr Outdoors is seeking a Manager, Ecommerce Technology (Shopify) to join our Ecommerce team in Brentwood, Tennessee. This position is responsible for the technical development, performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of Gathr Outdoors' ecommerce websites and the integrations connecting them to marketplaces and other business platforms, with a primary focus on Shopify and Shopify Plus.

This is a hands-on technical role that requires direct involvement in website development, troubleshooting, system integrations, and platform enhancements. The position works closely with Ecommerce Operations, IT, Analytics, internal business teams, and external development partners to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions that support ecommerce growth and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings strong Shopify development expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently manage technical priorities in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges, strong cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to building reliable, scalable ecommerce technology solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Shopify Development & Website Performance

• Lead hands-on Shopify and Shopify Plus development, customization, and ongoing enhancements across Gathr Outdoors' ecommerce websites.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize website functionality using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website functionality, checkout, performance, and other technical issues.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve website reliability, performance, scalability, and overall user experience.
• Support ongoing website maintenance, technical updates, and platform enhancements to ensure stable and reliable operations.
• Manage technical deployments, source control, testing, and documentation to maintain quality and minimize business disruption.

Ecommerce Integrations & Technical Support

• Support APIs, data feeds, webhooks, and technical integrations between Shopify, marketplaces, and other business systems.
• Partner with IT and Ecommerce Operations to diagnose and resolve technical issues involving ecommerce platforms and third‑party applications.
• Troubleshoot marketplace integration issues that directly intersect with the ecommerce technology environment.
• Support integrations with ERP, order management, analytics, and other business systems as needed.
• Provide technical support for ecommerce analytics, tracking, privacy, and consent technologies, including GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
• Serve as a technical resource to internal teams, helping diagnose complex issues and drive them through resolution.

Technical Solutions & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Translate business requirements into practical, effective technical solutions that support ecommerce initiatives.
• Provide technical recommendations, development estimates, and dependency assessments to help inform project planning and prioritization.
• Collaborate with Ecommerce, IT, Operations, Analytics, and other internal teams to support business objectives.
• Provide technical direction and oversight to external development agencies and contractors as needed.
• Maintain clear technical documentation to support knowledge sharing, troubleshooting, and long‑term platform stability.
• Identify opportunities to improve development processes, technical workflows, and overall ecommerce technology efficiency.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects and initiatives as the company continues to evolve and grow.
• Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of ecommerce technology or web development experience, including significant hands‑on experience within the Shopify ecosystem.
• Strong working knowledge of Shopify and Shopify Plus, including development, customization, integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web development technologies.
• Experience working with APIs, webhooks, ecommerce integrations, and data flows between business systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex ecommerce platform issues and third‑party applications.
• Experience using GitHub or comparable source‑control and development tools.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and ecommerce tracking technologies.
• Ability to independently manage multiple technical priorities and projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical business partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external technical resources in a fast‑paced, growing organization.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience supporting multiple Shopify stores or ecommerce brands.
• Experience with marketplace and social commerce integrations.
• Experience integrating ecommerce platforms with ERP and Order Management Systems (OMS), including NetSuite.
• Experience working with external development agencies, contractors, or technical service providers.
• Experience supporting ecommerce analytics, privacy, consent management, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Experience in a consumer products, retail, or multi‑brand ecommerce organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Works in a typical office environment and at times may travel to various Gathr sites, but minimal.
