Description

The USRM Data Analytics and Engineering (DAE) team seeks a data engineering leader passionate about driving results through dynamic teams, with expertise in Agile and servant leadership. This role manages our Digital Tagging, Analytics Implementation, and Data Engineering teams, overseeing digital data collection infrastructure, advanced tracking solutions, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with tag management platforms (e.g., Tealium, GTM) and analytics systems (e.g., Adobe Analytics, CJA, CDP, Google Analytics), along with a strong foundation in JavaScript and front-end development.

This leader will oversee teams responsible for managing digital data collection from goal setting to reporting, ensuring a reliable digital data foundation and literacy. You will mentor data engineers in designing and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making, with a focus on SQL and ETL processes.

Teams are located in Boston, Portsmouth, Seattle, Plano, and remotely. This role reports to the Director of Business Data Solutions Engineering within the USRM Data Analytics and Engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of digital analytics data collection across properties and applications.
  • Collaborate with product owners, domain owners, and marketers on tagging and data capture aligned with measurement plans.
  • Partner with IT on digital property enhancements.
  • Stay updated on digital analytics technology advancements.
  • Support digital analytics tools like Adobe Experience Cloud, Decibel, and Google Analytics.
  • Define implementation requirements and maintain documentation.
  • Lead troubleshooting and customization of tags using JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS.
  • Contribute to standards and best practices in digital analytics engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL, JavaScript, JSON, and API integrations.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Ensure data layer standards and governance.
  • Apply agile development practices.
  • Communicate effectively with teams and management.
  • Manage product vision and stakeholder satisfaction for Digital Data/Adobe CJA.
  • Guide digital product owners on reporting needs and tagging implications.
  • Ensure consistent tagging for reporting accuracy.
  • Validate tagging and usability during releases and regression testing.
  • Collaborate on tagging requirements across digital platforms.
  • Operate within agile delivery frameworks and ensure team accountability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of JS, XML, HTML, CSS, or mobile app development.
  • Experience with tag management systems (e.g., DTM, Adobe Launch, GTM, Tealium).
  • Experience with analytics debugging tools and data layer management.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, lakes, and reporting technologies (AWS, Snowflake, Informatica, etc.).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Slack, VersionOne).
  • 8-10 years in digital analytics, data architecture, engineering, or product ownership.
  • 5+ years leading analysts, engineers, or developers.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of web analytics and tagging tools, especially Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Tealium.
  • Ability to connect requirements to technology and define evaluation criteria.
  • High attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Experience testing analytics tags end-to-end.
  • Leadership experience developing teams and managing offshore talent.
  • Innovative mindset to improve digital analytics and data engineering operations.
  • Support onboarding and training on data collection tools and processes.
