Role Overview

The USRM Data Analytics and Engineering (DAE) team seeks a data engineering leader passionate about driving results through dynamic teams, with expertise in Agile methodologies and servant leadership. This role involves managing our Digital Tagging, Analytics Implementation, and Data Engineering teams, overseeing digital data collection infrastructure, advanced tracking solutions, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance across digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience with tag management platforms like Tealium or Google Tag Manager, and analytics systems such as Adobe Analytics, CJA, CDP, and Google Analytics, along with a solid foundation in JavaScript and front-end development.

The leader will oversee teams responsible for digital data collection from initial goal setting to reporting, ensuring a trustworthy data foundation and promoting data literacy. Additionally, the role involves mentoring data engineers, designing and maintaining data pipelines, and ensuring data quality and accessibility, with expertise in SQL and ETL processes.

This position is based in Boston, Portsmouth, Seattle, Plano, or remote, within the US Retail Markets (USRM) Technology team, reporting to the Director of Business Data Solutions Engineering within the USRM DAE team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of digital analytics data collection for Liberty’s properties and applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proper tagging and data capture aligned with measurement plans and business goals.
  • Partner with IT on enhancing digital properties.
  • Stay updated on digital analytics technology advancements.
  • Support digital analytics tools like Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Launch, Decibel, and Google Analytics.
  • Work with analysts to define requirements, create documentation, and maintain data dictionaries.
  • Lead troubleshooting and development of tags using JavaScript, XML, HTML, and CSS.
  • Contribute to standards and best practices in digital analytics engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL, JavaScript, JSON, and API integrations.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Ensure data layer standards and governance.
  • Apply Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Slack.
  • Manage product vision, stakeholder needs, and reporting requirements for Digital Data/Adobe CJA.
  • Guide digital product owners on tagging and reporting implications.
  • Validate tagging and data usability during releases and regressions.
  • Define tagging requirements across digital platforms.
  • Operate within agile delivery frameworks to meet business and technical goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong skills in JS, XML, HTML, CSS, or mobile app development.
  • Extensive experience with tag management systems (e.g., DTM, Adobe Launch, GTM, Tealium).
  • Experience with digital analytics tools and data layer management.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, cloud technologies (AWS, Snowflake), and BI tools.
  • Familiarity with agile practices and tools like Jira and Slack.
  • 8-10 years in digital analytics, data architecture, or data engineering.
  • 5+ years leading data teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of web analytics tools, primarily Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Tealium.
  • Ability to connect requirements to technology and innovate solutions.
  • Attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Experience testing analytics tags end-to-end.
  • Leadership experience in team development and offshore talent utilization.
  • Passion for innovation in digital analytics and data engineering.
  • Support onboarding and training teams in data collection tools and processes.
