Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Houston, TX, seeks a DC Operations Manager (2nd shift) to lead a 60–80 hourly workforce and 12–16 supervisors in inbound, outbound, replenishment, and transportation. • 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse, distribution center, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience managing exempt and non-exempt teams in fast-paced distribution environments.
• Demonstrated success leading large teams, including supervisors and hourly associates.
• Strong background in material handling, inventory management, labor planning, and operational performance management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager to develop and execute operational strategies that improve service levels, productivity, and cost performance.
• Lead and develop a team of Supervisors and Associates, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the GM to review staffing plans, labor utilization, and KPIs; implement improvements as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Own departmental budgets, staffing plans, and performance metrics; provide coaching and succession planning.
• Conduct daily startup meetings to align workload, targets, safety, and housekeeping.
• Monitor operational metrics to identify trends and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and PPE procedures; partner with stakeholders to meet objectives.

Job DescriptionDC Operations Manager (2nd shift)Location: Reports To: General ManagerPosition Summary:The DC Operations Manager partners closely with the General Manager (GM) to develop and execute strategies that drive continuous improvement, enhance productivity, and reduce operational costs. This role is responsible for leading a high-performing team, fostering talent development, and ensuring operational excellence across one or more key areas of the Distribution Center (DC), including:· Inbound Operations (Receiving and Reclamation)· Replenishment· Outbound Operations (Selection, Shipping, PDQ, E-Commerce)· Transportation· Customer Service· General Office AdministrationThe DC Operations Manager will provide direct leadership to 6-10 frontline Supervisors and overall operational oversight for approximately 60-80 hourly Associates, ensuring productivity, safety, quality, and service goals are consistently achieved.
