Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) seeks a Manager of Dangerous Goods to lead the DG compliance program, train staff, manage projects, and maintain processes. This position reports to the Head of US Export Compliance and Dangerous Goods and includes one direct report.

Location is flexible within major US cities with DGF presence; remote work is possible for the right candidate, with national scope and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of Dangerous Goods experience including successful project leadership and team leadership.
  • Ability to translate DG regulations into processes, tools and solutions to enable proper DG handling.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to guide the team and influence across the organization.

Manager, Dangerous Goods

Location: Any major city US (preference given to those in cities where DGF has a larger presence)

Overview

The Manger, Dangerous Goods is a leadership role within the DGF US Export Compliance and Dangerous Goods Compliance Team. This person will be responsible for the effectivity of the Dangerous Goods Compliance program including training, procedures, project management, and program maintenance. This role reports into the Head of US Export Compliance and Dangerous Goods and has one direct report.

  • Continuous Improvement. Assess current strategies and controls and identify priorities that will deliver the best results for the organization.
  • Responsible to translate regulations into processes, tools, and solutions that set agents up for success in proper handling of DG shipments.
  • Solves problems with a bias for technology. Understands DG automation solutions and is able to play a leadership role in adaption of new DG automation solutions.
  • Responsible to lead and develop others, with direct or indirect reporting structures.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
Experience

7-12 years of Dangerous Goods experience including successful project leadership and team leadership.
