Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced IT systems manager in Landover, MD to lead a team delivering 24/5 technical support for computer systems and networks, with data center oversight. The role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and a background in systems administration across VMware, NAS, UNIX/Linux, and Windows environments.

You will implement security policies, meet SLAs, and drive automation through scripting.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience.
• Experience administering systems in VMware NAS clusters, UNIX/Linux, Windows Servers, and MacOS clients.
• DoD 8570.01-Manual IAT Level II baseline certifications required (Security+ CE, GIAC options).
• Experience scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks.
• Familiar with Nessus vulnerability assessments and DISA STIG guidance.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).
• Military experience or familiarity with DoD is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manages team that provides technical assistance to computer system and network users. May also have oversight for a data center. Provides 24/5 technical support for computers and associated networks. Implements policies and procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, distributed, and corrected. Ensures maximum issue resolution in minimum time to meet Service Level Agreements. Evaluates new information systems products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aide the end user. Coordinates the preparation of bid specifications for required purchases (e.g., computers, software, (email, firewall, backup) and a variety of parts, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items. Directs, establishes, plans, and implements the policies and procedures to support the organization's technical support services. Manages the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of servers, desktop PCs, hardware, software, operating systems, and distributed printers. Monitors technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance .
• Ten (10) years of experience
• Experience administering systems in a VMware infrastructure, including Network Attached Storage (NAS) clusters, *NIX operating systems (Solaris, Linux), Windows Servers, and MacOS clients.
• Certification: DoD 8570.01-Manual, IAT Level II Baseline Certification (Security+ Continuing Education (CE), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), OR GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)).
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience writing scripts (Bash, Powershell, Python) to automate routine tasks.
• Vulnerability assessment experience using Nessus Vulnerability Scanner.
• Previous experience utilizing Secure Configuration Guidance such as DISA STIG's.
• Experience supporting developer operations using Agile or SCRUM framework, particularly using the Atlassian development suite. (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).
• Recent military experience or familiarity with DOD.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
