Join us in pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably. Our inspiring and caring environment forms a global community that celebrates diversity and individuality. We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.

Lead Varian’s North American collections organization to accelerate cash, reduce past-due receivables, minimize credit risk, and strengthen order-to-cash performance. This manager combines hands-on portfolio leadership with team development and disciplined process improvement primarily across the United States and Canada but with some Collections & Cash Leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Set portfolio strategy by balance, aging, risk, dispute status, and customer importance; establish ownership, contact cadence, promise-to-pay discipline, and escalation paths.
  • Reduce past-due and aged receivables, unapplied cash, short payments, deductions, and discrepancies; improve cash forecasting and personally guide large or sensitive accounts.
  • Coordinate rapid dispute resolution, payment plans, holds, executive escalations, recovery actions, and write-off recommendations while maintaining complete control evidence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Credit Risk Management
  • Own the North American credit policy and ensure consistent application of approval authorities, documentation standards, credit limits, payment terms, and escalation requirements.
  • Evaluate new and existing customers using financial statements, credit reports, payment history, external ratings, trade references, industry conditions, and other relevant risk indicators.
  • Approve or recommend credit limits and commercial terms within delegated authority; approve higher-risk or higher-value exposures with a clear, evidence-based recommendation.
  • Establish appropriate risk mitigations, such as deposits, advance payments, letters of credit, guarantees, revised payment terms, security instruments, or staged delivery and billing.
People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop North American credit and collections professionals; translate business priorities into clear targets, balanced workloads, and individual accountability.
  • Use portfolio reviews, one-on-one coaching, performance discussions, and development plans to strengthen negotiation, customer conversations, dispute resolution, analysis, and systems capability.
  • Build a collaborative, inclusive, customer-focused culture with effective coverage, succession plans, ethical judgment, and consistent execution during high-volume periods.
Process Improvement
  • Standardize collection workflows, segmentation, dispute codes, escalation practices, documentation, and management reporting across the portfolio.
  • Use aging, activity, promise-to-pay, dispute, and payment-behavior data with root-cause analysis to remove bottlenecks, recurring delinquency, billing defects, and manual work.
  • Advance automation, electronic invoicing, workflow tools, self-service, dashboards, and master-data quality; lead testing, training, adoption, and continuous performance monitoring.
