Job summary

SB Energy, a leader in large-scale data center developments, seeks a Manager of Contract Management to guide contractual strategy and execution for EPC and major supply agreements. The role requires coordinating with legal, procurement, and finance to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

You will oversee a team, negotiate complex contracts, and standardize templates and playbooks to support fast-paced projects, with a hybrid work arrangement across select U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Master’s or JD preferred for advanced roles.
• 7+ years of professional experience in contracts and procurement.

Job description

As a member of the Data Center Supply Chain team, the Manager of Contract Management will play a critical role in the contractual strategy and execution for large-scale data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead creation, issuance, and full-cycle contract management for EPC, OFCI equipment, Site Ops Procurement, and major supply agreements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contract documents.
• Hire and train contract management specialists or train other team members in contract negotiation and administration.
• Negotiate and execute complex contracts, ensuring risk, schedule, and cost objectives are met.
• Develop, standardize, and update contract templates, terms, and negotiation playbooks tailored to fast-paced data center projects.
• Collaborate with legal, procurement, project management, engineering, and finance to ensure contractual compliance, scope clarity, and coordinated project delivery.
• Support the Project Team with change orders, claims, extensions, amendments, close-outs, and dispute resolution to minimize commercial impacts and maintain project momentum.
• Oversee vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and long-lead equipment procurement processes.
• Track contract obligations, critical milestones, notice periods, and deliverables to ensure adherence to owner objectives.
• Report regularly on contracting activities, risk exposure, and project commitments to leadership.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, construction management, engineering, law, or a related field; Master’s or JD preferred.
• 5+ years of contract management experience within the data center, mission-critical infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
• Demonstrated success negotiating and administering EPC and procurement contracts (including LLE/OFCI scopes) for data center projects.
• Strong working knowledge of contract law, construction regulations, commercial risk allocation, and claims/dispute management.
• Proficiency with contract management and document control software (Procore, MS Office, Adobe).
• Exceptional organizational, negotiation, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communications skills.
• Adept at managing multiple simultaneous priorities, deadlines, and high-value contracts in a fast-paced development environment.
• Experience with the full project lifecycle, from initial supplier qualification through RFP, contracting, construction, and close-out, for hyperscale or colocation data center projects is highly valued.
• Location: San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, CA, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ or Houston, TX. Hybrid.
• Base Pay - $140,000 - $170,000
• The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our teams. The compensation range provided reflects base pay. Total rewards may also include performance-based bonuses, equity grants, and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
