Job summary

The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority seeks a Manager, Concessions to oversee food and beverage stands, carts, and related functions at Bojangles Entertainment Complex ensuring that all operations are carried out successfully.

Responsibilities include managing labor costs, menu development, sanitation and safety compliance, payroll records, and collaborating with Chefs to develop concepts and drive revenue while maintaining inventory for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–4 years related experience and/or training.
• 2–3 years supervisory/people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee labor cost, menu development, equipment cleanliness, maintenance, and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with Chefs and partners to develop concepts, drive revenue, and improve efficiencies.
• Maintain communication with facility management for event planning.
• Uphold sanitation and safety compliance with regulations.
• Ensure accuracy and accountability of cash handling procedures.
• Schedule, train, and direct Concessions staff; complete payroll records.
• Identify marketing opportunities to increase sales; manage inventory for events.
• Set up concession stands and ensure product availability; monitor stock levels.
• Promote excellent guest service, and foster a strong team culture.

Job Summary

The Manager, Concessions is responsible for executing food and beverage concessions stands, carts, and various functions at Bojangles Entertainment Complex ensuring that all operations are carried out successfully.

Job Responsibilities

• Financial oversight of labor cost and menu development, equipment cleanliness, maintenance, and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborates with Chefs and other business partners to develop innovative concepts, drive revenue, and find operational efficiencies.
• Maintains communication lines with facility management for effective event planning.
• Maintains optimum standards of sanitation and safety in accordance with all applicable regulations.
• Ensures accuracy and accountability of all cash handling procedures of the food and beverage department.
• Schedules, trains, and directs all Concessions team members.
• Completes payroll records of department staff.
• Identifies marketing opportunities and develops strategies to achieve greater sales volume.
• Maintains proper inventory levels for scheduled events by working with warehouse staff.
• Ensures compliance with all NC ABC regulations.
• Ensures adequate levels of product by continual supervision of stock levels.
• Ensures concession stands are set up for each business day.
• Upholds and enforces hospitality standards through daily reminders, training, observation, follow-up; investigate food quality and service complaints.
• Maintains positive client and customer relations.
• Maximizes technology POS system for efficiency and customer service enhancement.
• Develops a highly engaged team and cultivates an employee first culture.
• Prepares various operational reports.
• May perform other duties as required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may consist of nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Scope of Responsibility

• This job has some budgetary responsibilities.
• This job will have periodic access to confidential data including financial statements, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, and company plans, designs, and programs.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Manages part-time staff; up to seventy-five employees in the Concessions department during events.
• Responsible for the overall management, coordination, and evaluation of concession employees.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests, and team members.
• English reading, writing, math, and computer skills required
• Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products
• Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; Food Service equipment; and Two-way radio.
• Attention to detail with high level of accountability.
• Experience leading teams
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3 years prior people management and/or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge and experience with inventory control.

Physical Demands

• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 60 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
