Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manager, Component Engineering Services & Support to lead the CE Services team at Cedar Rapids, IA or Melbourne, FL. Responsibilities include maintaining CE specifications, ensuring GTM compliance, and coordinating with Design, Manufacturing, Program Management and Quality to release specifications on time.

The on-site role requires leadership, strong communication, and experience with engineering documentation and vendor data sheets.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5 years.
  • 5+ years drafting and maintaining engineering documentation.
  • 3+ years interpreting engineering drawings and vendor data sheets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and grow CE Services team.
  • Develop operational plans impacting planning activities and integration of technical work.
  • Implement product design changes and oversee documentation updates.
  • Present reports to senior management and approve expenditures.

Manager, Engineering Services & Support

We have an immediate need for a Manager, Component Engineering Services & Support in our Cedar Rapids, IA facility OR Melbourne, FL facility to lead the Component Engineering (CE) Services team. This team is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining all CE component specifications and data tables while ensuring compliance with all Global Trade requirements across Collins. Role often collaborates with key stakeholders in Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Procurement, Quality, etc. communities to ensure timely release of component specifications.

Position is on-site in Cedar Rapids, IA OR Melbourne , FL

What You Will Do:
  • Lead, mentor and grow a team of experienced professionals.
  • Develop operational plans with direct impact on planning activities and the achievement of results; leads in the development of integration for technical activities.
  • Responsible for implementing product design and changes.
  • Presents written reports to senior level management for review, provides secondary approval for expenditures, enforces company policies, and makes decisions about the purchase of materials and services based on spending requirements.
  • Advises engineers on technical support for a variety of tasks.
  • Implements business and strategic planning processes.
  • Responsible for implementing short and long-term organization goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvements within the component specification process to improve first pass yield completions.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • 5+ years of experience drafting and maintaining engineering documentation.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and vendor data sheets.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Working familiarity with Collins Component Engineering processes.
  • Prior experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Demonstrated success working as part of a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience with analyzing data.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
