Job summary

Moët Hennessy USA, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Commercial Strategy & Effectiveness to accelerate MHUSA’s commercial performance by translating priorities and data-driven insights into actionable strategies for Sales, Brand, and distributor partners.

The role supports Route-to-Market effectiveness, channel strategy, KPI tracking, and adoption of commercial tools. The position leads cross-functional collaboration, develops robust reporting frameworks, and champions best practices in data product

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business intelligence, or business planning.
  • Wines and spirits experience in the U.S. three-tier system preferred.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with BI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Be an ambassador of Commercial analytics within the organization, influencing and embedding insights to drive resource allocation.
  • Prepare strategic presentations for senior management and partners.
  • Develop Channel-Specific Sales Strategies and activation tools for brands across channels.
  • Identify opportunities to inform channel priorities and resource allocation.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, reporting on program and initiative effectiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge libraries and collaborate with COE for data-driven decision making.

The Manager, Commercial Strategy & Effectiveness is a highly strategic and commercially-driven role that will help accelerate MHUSA’s commercial performance by translating business priorities, market opportunities, and data-driven insights into actionable strategies for Sales, Brand, and distributor partners. This role will support Route-to-Market effectiveness, channel strategy, KPI tracking, and adoption of commercial tools that improve execution and decision-making across the U.S. business.

Leveraging strategic leadership and operational expertise, this role will develop robust reporting and analytical frameworks, advancing MHUSA’s data transformation journey. This highly collaborative, cross-functional position works with diverse internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful business outcomes. The Manager will champion best practice data product development, reinforcing MHUSA’s commitment to data and analytics for informed decision-making.

Office/Location: Hybrid 3x a week based out of NYC Office

Compensation: $110,000-$137,000/ Annually + Bonus

Job responsibilities
  • Be an ambassador of Commercial analytics within the organization, influencing, educating and embedding to drive insights and resource allocation.
  • Prepare strategic and issue-based presentations for senior management, internal and external business partners, and global stakeholders.
  • Develop Channel-Specific Sales Strategies: Create and implement targeted sales plans and activation tools for brands across various channels and segments.
  • Identify Opportunities and Market Growth/Profit pools to inform channel priorities and resource allocation
  • Establish, monitor, and report on overarching business and brand KPIs, tracking program and initiative effectiveness.
  • Maintain Knowledge Library of Commercials Insights in partnership with CCIS COE
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor business news and market changes for impact on the business or own expertise area, using this to shape decisions.

Route-to-Market (RTM) and Sales Effectiveness: 30%

  • Optimize Route-to-Market Structures:Analyze existing RTM models and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in market penetration.
  • Assess RTM performance and recommend improvements to coverage, route efficiency, execution standards, and distributor focus.
  • Sales Route Performance Analysis: Monitor, track and analyze sales route performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Training & Development Support: Collaborate with Commercial Education to identify training needs and contribute to the development of tools that enhance sales team capabilities.

Product Management, Data Operations, Stewardship and Leadership: 25%

  • Develop commercial performance dashboards and narratives that support decision-making by Sales, Brand, and leadership teams.
  • Partner with COE, Commercial Enablement, and extended Commercial Team on incorporating and prioritizing Commercial business rules, product needs, and business objectives into the broader MHUSA Data and Product Strategy.
  • Support operationalization of Commercial data products within MHUSA with the objectives of embedding and increasing adoption and usage.
  • Partner with other members of commercial strategy team and commercial education team to create training agenda for Commercial reporting tools and frameworks.
  • Partner with analytics/data teams to support continuous optimization of Commercial Data assets, finding synergy across datasets and data projects to maximize business value and efficiency
  • Contribute to data transformation journey for MHUSA, educating and influencing other business stakeholders to adopt data best practices.
  • Continuously staying up-to-date with latest advances in the data technology and practices space and finding appropriate applications for MHUSA

  • Continuously search for and create extension opportunities at the intersection of business needs and intellectual curiosity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Brand, Commercial Marketing, and Business Intelligence teams.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with distributors and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a flexible and adaptable mindset by continually evaluating, revising and responding with agility to meet rapidly evolving business needs, and perform other functions and duties as assigned.
Profile

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

Professional Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business analysis, business intelligence, or business planning, with a strong focus on Route-to-Market strategies and sales effectiveness.
  • Wines and spirits experience in the U.S. three-tier system preferred.

Practical/Technical Knowledge

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Working knowledge of analytics, data visualization, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities;

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Progressive thought leadership and strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop and deliver high impact insights with a proven record of taking calculated risks for long-term benefit.
