Job description

Project Manager / Construction Manager – Diving Scope

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Construction Manager to work on a contract to support a shallow-water diving scope aboard an anchored DSV vessel. This role will lead planning and field execution for the project, serve as the lead inspector on the vessel, and coordinate additional inspectors and field personnel once mobilization begins next month. The ideal candidate will bring commercial diving experience, subsea pipeline exposure, and the confidence to work closely with the current Project Lead as a hands-on offshore lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning, mobilization, and offshore execution of the diving scope.
  • Serve as lead inspector aboard the vessel and coordinate supporting inspectors.
  • Work closely with the Project Lead on day-to-day field operations and scope delivery.
  • Manage vessel-based logistics, permits, reporting, and execution sequencing.
  • Maintain alignment between operations, inspection quality, safety, and client expectations.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during active diving operations and field mobilization.

Qualifications

  • Commercial diving background, preferably with offshore or marine construction experience.
  • Subsea pipeline inspection or installation experience, especially in shallow water.
  • Prior experience in project management, construction management, or lead inspection roles.
  • Strong coordination skills for vessel operations, inspectors, and field personnel.
  • Comfortable working in a field-first role with a hands-on offshore presence.
  • Ability to support safe, competent diving operations in line with IMCA-style best practices

Preferred Experience

  • Diving supervisor, lead inspector, or diving project manager background.
  • Marine construction, subsea IMR, or offshore vessel-based project experience.
  • Familiarity with inspection workflows, reporting discipline, and offshore logistics.
  • Experience working around pipelines, dive spreads, and anchored vessel operations.

Role Summary

This is a hybrid operations + inspection + field leadership role for someone who can bridge project management and hands-on offshore execution. The strongest candidates will combine commercial diving credibility with the ability to manage people, planning, and vessel workflows in real time. The role is intended to work as the Project Lead’s right hand once work mobilizes, with a strong presence on the vessel during the execution phase.

The scope will last roughly 12 months and be based in Houston, TX with frequent trips to the project site in New York.
