Your Job: The Manager of Collections Physician Billing oversees the AR follow-up team for a Multi-Specialty and Family Practice service line, ensuring timely resolution and maximizing reimbursement across all payers. The role requires a strong understanding of payer guidelines, billing practices, and team leadership to drive performance and meet organizational goals. The manager collaborates with billing, coding, vendors, and compliance departments to address denials and lead the AR follow-up and appeals process, developing staff and ensuring best practices in revenue cycle management. The position may be hybrid or remote, depending on departmental needs.

Your Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent healthcare experience with 2 years in healthcare leadership, or a college degree with relevant experience.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  1. Denials Management Oversight: Manage all aspects of AR follow-up and denials management, including tracking, investigating, and resolving payer denials per guidelines.
  2. Follow-up and Appeals Strategy: Develop and implement follow-up and appeal strategies, including automation, ensuring accurate and timely claim follow-up and persuasive appeals compliance.
  3. Revenue Integrity Collaboration: Work with leadership to ensure claim accuracy and documentation for services, collaborating with Revenue Integrity to enhance charge capture and reduce revenue leakage.
  4. Team Management & Development: Hire, train, mentor, and develop staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement with ongoing coaching.
  5. Compliance & Payer Relations: Stay updated on industry standards, payer guidelines, and regulations; act as the primary contact for payer audits.
  6. Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze denial trends, report metrics, and develop strategies to reduce denials and improve reimbursement.
  7. Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to address denial issues, aligning billing, coding, and clinical teams, and optimize workflows.
  8. Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with clinical, coding, and other teams to resolve complex denial issues related to documentation and claims.
  9. Epic System Utilization: Use Epic and other systems to manage denials, ensuring workflow optimization for accurate charge capture and claims submission.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
  11. Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.
