Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with four years of related work experience, including two years in a charge nurse/leadership role
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, perioperative care and clinical standards
  • FHS policies, standards, regulatory/accreditation requirements
  • Understanding of healthcare delivery systems and standards of care
  • Knowledge of clinical competencies and health information management concepts
  • Strong supervisory, coaching and performance management capabilities
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and daily operations management
  • Ability to analyze data, identify improvements and implement corrective actions
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Manager, Clinical Services Periop, you will provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of perioperative nurses and technicians, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices and regulatory standards. You will develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures to optimize patient outcomes and operational workflows.

Every day you will manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. You will also monitor key performance indicators, analyze clinical data, and implement process improvements to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical expertise in perioperative nursing, exceptional leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills. You will effectively collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other departments, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care and efficient resource utilization.

Required
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and four (4) years related work that would demonstrate attainment of requisite job knowledge/abilities, including two (2) years in a charge nurse/leadership position (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, techniques, protocols and tools/equipment of the nursing profession in general, and of the perioperative clinical nursing specialization
  • Knowledge of FHS policies and standards, and legal regulatory/accreditation requirements applicable to matters within designated scope of responsibility
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and methodologies pertaining to healthcare delivery systems and standards of care
  • Knowledge of clinical competencies and clinical care standards/practices
  • Knowledge of Medical Necessity criteria and published healthcare coding conventions applicable to health information management
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee supervision, development and performance management
  • Knowledge of the functionality, application and use of electronic medical record and related systems sufficient to manage assigned daily operations
  • Ability to understand financial and/or operational reports, analyze data, identify improvement opportunities and implement effective responses
  • Ability to identify compliance deficiencies and/or systemic weaknesses and implement timely corrective action to forestall or remedy
  • Ability to keep abreast of current and changing laws and regulatory standards and their impact on operations and services/activities
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, interpret requirements and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to express ideas and convey information effectively in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to develop and implement effective policies, standards and procedures relating to matters under defined scope of responsibility
  • Ability to demonstrate effective supervisory skills, including developing clear performance expectations, hiring, coaching, conflict management, evaluating, resolving performance problems, and group facilitation

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification
