Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a hybrid-structured leader for its Clinical Informatics division in Traverse City. Lead staff development, drive performance and operational oversight, and partner with clinical leaders to optimize EHR performance and safety.

You will direct workflows, standardize EHR practices, and guide technology evaluations across the organization, ensuring effective clinical applications and improved patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 8+ years in Clinical Informatics.
• Leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder influence across org levels.
• Experience with EHR implementation and optimization; Cerner EMR/CPOE preferred.
• Strong PM, analytical, and organizational skills for cross-functional initiatives.

Job Description

This is a hybrid role with an expectation of working onsite in Traverse City three days per week.

Your LeadershipinAction

• Lead the Clinical Informatics department, including staff development, performance management, and operational oversight.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clinical and operational leaders to optimize EHR performance, quality, patient safety, and efficiency.

• Direct workflow redesign and process improvement initiatives to enhance clinical and operational outcomes.

• Establish and implement EHR best practices, standardization efforts, and performance improvement strategies across the organization.

• Partner with IT and clinical leadership to evaluate, implement, and optimize new technologies, system upgrades, and clinical applications.

Qualifications

What’s Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, healthcare, or a related field and 8 years of Clinical Informatics experience required. A clinical background is required. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing others will be considered.

• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.

• Proven success leading clinical and operational performance improvement initiatives in healthcare.

• Experience with EHR implementation and optimization required; Cerner EMR/CPOE experience preferred.

• Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills with experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives
