Job summary

Overlake Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Clinical Education and Nursing Professional Development to oversee nursing education, professional development, and competency programs for nursing and patient care teams. You will collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders to ensure learner-centered training and evidence-based practice across the organization.

The role requires a BSN and MSN, RN licensure in Washington, and 5+ years of clinical nursing experience with 3+ years

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing Education or Healthcare Leadership (MSN) required.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC) and specialty certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years clinical nursing experience.
  • Three years in nursing education, staff development, or clinical training.
  • Three years nursing leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing clinical education programs for hospital/acute care.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles and competency design.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management and change management skills.

  • Develop and manage budgets for operations and education programs.
  • Monitor labor productivity, education program costs, and resource utilization.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or staff development.
  • Partner with ancillary departments to identify gaps and propose evidence-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and external partners.
  • Serve on committees related to quality, education, and clinical practice.

The Manager of Clinical Education and Nursing Professional Development oversees nursing education, professional development, and competency programs for nursing and patient care teams.
