Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Manager of Civil Engineering Services for our Land Development Department in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex site civil engineering projects, a strong technical background, and exceptional leadership skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage the civil engineering department, overseeing project teams, resource allocation, and budgets.
  2. Provide strategic direction and ensure project quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
  3. Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and subconsultants to understand and meet project requirements.
  4. Lead design and engineering for civil site projects, including zoning, site layout, stormwater management, utilities, and permits from start to finish.
  5. Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
  6. Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and scheduling software effectively.
  7. Coordinate with other departments such as Structural, Traffic, Landscape Architecture, and Construction Management to deliver integrated solutions.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate new technologies and practices into projects.
  9. Participate in business development activities, including proposals, client presentations, and networking to secure new projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • PA Professional Engineer (PE) license required; WV and OH PE licenses preferred or obtainable within six months.
  • At least 10 years of civil engineering experience focusing on site development, utilities, and permitting.
  • Proven leadership in managing engineering teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong proficiency with civil engineering design software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience building and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships.
