Job description

Carrier Operations is looking for a high-performance & goal-oriented professional to lead Lean Transformation initiatives throughout our factories, including the full value stream (suppliers, internal operations, and customers). Lean transformation is an initiative to transform all operations sites to the Carrier Excellence (Cx) standards via a structured process and series of activities and events. Transformed sites will be integrated with and performed in harmony with the Supply Chain (SIOP, Scheduling, Material Management, Logistics, etc.). This position provides great visibility to each Site within BU’s as well as divisional WHQ. Success will be defined by the successful transformation of sites and improvement in the relevant KPIs. The candidate must be an expert in Lean, including Cell Design, Manufacturing Standard Work, Material Presentation, and Lean Logistics. The candidate will be running projects as well as coaching others and developing standards. This position will report to the Carrier Excellence Lead for Fire & Security Products and be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sustainable improvements across the business.
  • Foster a teamwork environment, on either a leadership or peer role.
  • Coach/guide/mentor/assist Site Managers in translating business goals, initiatives, and improvement targets into lean initiatives to be included in the site’s Macro Plan.
  • Provide strategic leadership of Lean Transformation Initiatives within the site
  • Planning of lean initiatives including PIP (Productivity Improvement Projects) to ensure a pipeline is available to meet financial business planning and execute that plan.
  • Implement successful KPI tracking and monitoring system - PIP Savings ($) -Transformation progress - Attributable KPI changes - Positively affecting KPI change, including, but not limited to: - Lead Time decreases - Schedule Stabilization improvement - Inventory reduction - Balanced Receipt of goods stabilization - % of parts with a Plan For Every Part.
  • Lead Kaizen events/projects aligned to Lean Transformation Projects as required
  • Enhance lean activities in the site levels through innovation and benchmarking
  • Demonstrate financial performance through execution of Productivity Projects that assure Year Over Year savings
  • Promote Carrier’s culture and values.
  • Develop and mentor additional lean resources throughout the site to expand the base of event leaders
  • Help and guide additional lean resources or event leaders / Help remove project level Barriers.
  • Ensure appropriate lean initiatives communication and best practice sharing
  • Evaluate process automation opportunities that connect to the overall lean transformation vision.
  • Perform workplace audits, conduct risk assessments in support of the Cx initiatives.
  • Successful candidates will get certified within the first 1.5 years through the Cx practitioner program.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations with progressive leadership & technical responsibilities.
  • 3+ years of Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence experience.

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to critically review and improve initiative metrics

  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Power BI or similar data analytics is a plus
