The Humana Enterprise Operations Enablement (EOE) - Data & Analytics – BI (Business Intelligence) team is a high performing team focused on data management, data visualization, and data science supporting Humana’s Service Operations.

The Data & Analytics team is seeking a Manager, Business Intelligence to solve complex business problems and issues for the organization using data from internal and external sources to provide insights to decision-makers. The Manager, Business Intelligence will work within specific guidelines and procedures; apply advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; and receive assignments in the form of objectives, determining approach, resources, schedules, and goals.

The Manager, Business Intelligence will lead a team of engineers responsible for designing and developing data models, creating data visualizations, and describing the tools, technologies, applications, and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present raw data to generate insightful and actionable business insights. Decisions will typically relate to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives within their department. The role requires cross-departmental collaboration, conducting briefings and meetings, and maintaining contact with other managers across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  1. At least 5 years of technical experience in data analysis
  2. At least 3 years of experience in SQL development
  3. Advanced experience working with large and complex data sets within large organizations
  4. Experience analyzing data to solve various business problems and creating data visualizations that inform strategic decisions
  5. Proficiency in understanding healthcare-related data
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with senior and executive leadership
  7. Availability to accommodate business hours according to Eastern Time
  8. Experience in building and maintaining visualization suites supporting diverse business customers
  9. Proven experience in developing and mentoring junior staff members
  10. Willingness to maintain availability outside standard hours based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  2. Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing teams of up to 10 members
  3. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and/or Qlik for data visualization
  4. Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and predictive modeling
  5. Experience creating analytics solutions in healthcare sectors
  6. Experience with cloud computing, preferably Azure
  7. Experience managing workloads via Azure DevOps
  8. Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GIT, NuGet, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies
  9. Hands-on experience with agile/scrum practices including user story grooming and sprint planning
  10. Experience with Data Warehousing (Azure/SQL/Synapse) and ETL processes (Azure Data Factory/SSIS)

Work-At-Home Information:

To work effectively remotely, your internet connection should meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps; wired connection recommended
  • Satellite, cellular, or microwave connections require leadership approval
  • California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota residents may receive a bi-weekly internet expense reimbursement
  • Humana will provide necessary telephone equipment
  • Work from a dedicated, interruption-free space to protect member PHI/HIPAA information

Occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: $106,900 - $147,000 per year, with potential bonuses based on performance. Compensation varies by location and experience.
