Job summary

USI Insurance Services in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking an experienced operations leader to manage a book of brokers within the General Agency framework. You will supervise Broker Consultants and Benefit Administrators, drive training and performance, and collaborate with senior management to optimize service levels and throughput.

The role requires deep knowledge of group health insurance products, ERISA compliance, and broker/vendor liaison skills.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a group health insurance setting; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must hold a Life, Accident & Health license.
  • Expert knowledge of products, services, competitive offerings, market needs, and industry trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of agency management system functionality, workflow procedures, underwriting, sales, and service processes.
  • Detailed understanding of health/ancillary benefit plan designs, financial models, enrollment, and carrier processes.
  • Effective leadership skills with ability to manage others.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret benefit-related data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; maintain relationships with clients, carriers, vendors, and other contacts.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for day-to-day management of Broker Consultants and Benefit Administrators.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to assigned team members.
  • Promote USI Insurance Services culture and mission.
  • Collaborate with OpCo President/Market Leader and management team to ensure service and efficiency.
  • Work with HR to define organizational structure; coordinate recruiting and staff development.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for team members.
  • Make recommendations for process improvement to meet goals and capacity.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and development of operations staff.
  • Support carrier/vendors goals and objectives.
  • Resolve day-to-day service issues for brokers and vendors.
  • Educate and aid brokers on compliance topics (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, Health Care Reform).
  • Process new business applications; ensure quick, accurate vendor installation.
  • Process policy changes and other requests from clients and brokers.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for ancillary/worksite benefits.
  • Participate with Account Executive on sales opportunities as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, products, legislation, and technology.

General Description:
