Job summary

United Way of New York City is seeking a Manager, Benefits Navigation, Health Equity to support community-based organizations in Medicaid enrollment and benefits navigation under UWNYC's 1115 Waiver Initiative. The role focuses on capacity building, training, and technical assistance.

You will conduct needs assessments, provide hands-on coaching, monitor policy updates, and collaborate across UWNYC teams to align services with Medicaid requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social work, or related field required.
• Master’s degree with two years’ work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicaid policy and programs required.
• Experience delivering hands-on training to community-based organizations.
• Willingness to travel across the five boroughs for on-site training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured needs assessments across CBO partners to identify gaps in benefits navigation and enrollment capacity.
• Provide hands-on training and technical assistance through coaching, site visits, and small-group sessions.
• Monitor federal and New York Medicaid policy developments and translate updates into practical guidance.
• Support integration of benefits navigation into existing service workflows and case management systems.
• Track key performance indicators (e.g., screenings, enrollments, recertifications, referrals) to improve outcomes.
