ABOUT THE ROLE
SUMMARY

Support the Crisis Stabilization adult and children's units, Access Inpatient and Substance Abuse departments. This position is 40 hours per week with on-call weekdays, weekends and holidays. Will assist the Director of Clinical Services and the Director of Substance in managing the inpatient units both clinically and aspects of management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises Behavioral Techs and Lead Behavioral Techs in all departments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Duties and Responsibilities reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all related work assignments that may be inherent to the job.

  • Coordinates day-to-day activities with all behavioral techs and staff.
  • Participates in the interview process and the selection of behavioral tech staff.
  • Provides supervision to the behavioral health staff regarding performance of clinical duties and participation in staff development.
  • Provides a working schedule of all behavioral technicians.
  • Coordinates staff development and supervisions with the Director of Crisis Services and Substance Abuse.
  • In charge of performance management of all BHT staff.
  • Role models client care and milieu management skills for behavioral techs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with nursing, medical and ancillary staff and upper management.
  • Identifies both clinical and non-clinical needs or problems affecting behavioral techs and program services and is able to take necessary actions to resolve them through self-initiation.
  • Adheres to the Policies and Procedures of Park Place Behavioral Health.
  • Maintains annual certification in CPR, HWC and DCF trainings.
  • Maintains appropriate dress and grooming for the position per PPBH dress code policy.
  • Provide direct care to unpredictable, potentially violent, mentally ill patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3-5 years Supervisor experience and 3 years of behavioral health experience.
  • Maturity and sensitivity to the special needs of PPBH clients while possessing the knowledge of behavioral health and medical conditions.
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention/stabilization and aggressive behavior management to costumers in a safe, culturally sensitive and gender specific manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly about the needs of the program to the project director.
  • Ability to utilize and navigate an electronic health record.
  • Ability to communicate client needs and information to behavioral healthcare staff.
  • Must have Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the use of personal computers, and standard office productivity software
REQUIREMENTS
  • A valid Class E Drivers' License for positions that require driving personal or Agency vehicle on Agency business.
  • Must maintain a minimum Bodily Injury & Property Liability insurance limit of at least $50,000 for positions that require driving personal own vehicle (POV) on Agency business. (Proof Required)
  • PPBH is a 24/7 Agency. All employees must be available as needed when required.
