ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides psychiatric services for assigned patients.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and discharge assessment.
  • Order laboratory and diagnostic tests necessary for medication management.
  • Provides psychiatric care in accordance with the Agency’s protocol for the provision of these services.
  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with the Agency’s protocols for such documentation and with its standards for timeliness for completion.
  • During the absence or unavailability of other providers, provide necessary authorizing signatures for treatment plans, or other documents, etc.
  • Exhibits good leadership skills.
  • Always considers all relevant data in making decisions, demonstrates sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to respond to changing circumstances in a manner so as to maximize the opportunity and minimize the problem as appropriate.

CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Identify and assess behavioral health needs and incorporate clinical observations into an overall, team-based primary care assessment that may include identifying, screening, assessing, and diagnosing.
  • Create and implement care plans that address behavioral health factors that may include mental illness, substance use disorders, and physical health problems.
  • Communicate effectively with other providers, staff and patients and the primary care team with a willingness to initiate patient and/or family contact outside routine face‑to‑face clinical work.
  • Communicate in ways that build patient understanding, satisfaction, and the ability to participate in care.
  • Employ the biopsychosocial model – approaching healthcare from biological, psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural aspects of whole‑person care, including patient and family beliefs, values, culture, and preferences.
Qualifications
  • Must be licensed as APRN in the State of Florida. Must be Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. CME certificates or confirmation of education must be furnished to HR
  • Must be a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with appropriate certification
  • Must have DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred
  • Computer Skills: Ability to operate at intermediate level Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to apply knowledge of Windows programs to Sage MIP Fund Accounting and Microsoft Outlook and Access.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A valid Class E Drivers’ License that require driving personal or Agency vehicle on Agency business.
  • Must maintain a minimum Bodily Injury & Property Liability insurance limit of at least $50,000 for driving personal own vehicle (POV) on Agency business. (Proof Required)
  • PPBH is a 24/7 Agency. All employees must be available as needed when required.
