The Manager reports to the Director of Crisis Services and requires a Master’s degree in a mental health field and LMHC/LCSW licensure in Florida, with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of supervision experience in mental health.
  • Two years’ experience assessing patients in mental health crisis.
  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, MFT, or Social Work.
  • Florida LMHC or LCSW license preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret journals and basic legal documents.
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quarterly operational and clinical supervision to staff of the Access Inpatient department.
  • Interview, hire, and train clinical and support staff for 24/7 coverage.
  • Be available in person during operating hours and on-call after hours for clinical consultation.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Access Inpatient department and coordinate with community agencies.
  • Initiate, track, and report Performance Measure data for the Access Inpatient department bi-annually.
  • Conduct monthly audits of documentation and ensure accuracy including state reporting data.
  • Report baker act data to DCF within 5 days of arrival.
  • Complete quarterly peer review summaries and annual evaluations.
  • Attend Care Coordination meetings twice weekly with department managers.
  • Ensure staff training compliance and maintain positive rapport with referring agencies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

SUMMARY: Under the oversight of the Director of Crisis Services the Access Inpatient Manager will supervise the daily operations of the Access Department, works to resolve problematic situations between staff, clients, and community agents, and keeps the Director of Crisis Services informed about significant issues affecting Access Department operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the Inpatient Access staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide regular operational and clinical supervision to staff of the Access Inpatient department quarterly.
  • Will interview, hire, and train both clinical and support staff of the Access Inpatient department and ensure the Access Inpatient department is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days per years.
  • Be available in person during daily operating hours and on-call by phone after hours for clinical consultation with staff of the Access Inpatient department.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Access Inpatient department, works to resolve problematic situations between staff, clients, and community agents, and keeps the Director of Crisis Services informed about significant issues affecting Access Department operations.
  • Be available to assess patients in need of inpatient treatment when needed and initiate baker acts when necessary.
  • Initiate, track, and create reports of Performance Measure data for the Access Inpatient department on a bi-annual basis.
  • Conduct monthly audits of Access Inpatient department documentation to ensure completion and accuracy including state reporting data.
  • Report baker act data to DCF within 5 days of arrival.
  • Complete peer review summaries on a quarterly basis for the Inpatient Access department.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for all Access Inpatient staff.
  • Conduct quarterly staff meetings for the Access Inpatient department to inform staff members of department and agency operational changes.
  • Attend Care Coordination meetings twice a week with agency department managers to report on patient activity in the Access department.
  • Ensure that all Access department staff members are current with required trainings.
  • Maintains positive rapport with referring agencies, patients and other departments.
  • Report to the Director of Crisis Services any acute or systematic problems.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required by Supervisor.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC or LCSW), with a minimum of three years of supervision experience, and two years’ experience assessing patients in mental health crisis; or the equivalent qualifications.
  • Master Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work. Licensed in the State of Florida as a LMHC or LCSW preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific journals and basic legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups.
  • Must have Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the use of personal computers, and standard office productivity software.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A valid Class E Drivers’ License for positions that require driving personal or Agency vehicle on Agency business.
  • Must maintain a minimum Bodily Injury & Property Liability insurance limit of at least $50,000 for positions that require driving personal own vehicle (POV) on Agency business. (Proof Required)
  • PPBH is a 24/7 Agency. All employees must be available as needed when required.
