Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Ohio seeks a Manager Automation Engineering OE to lead high-automation projects at multiple distribution centers, delivering equipment layout, controls and software integration for conveyors, case sorters and warehouse control systems.

You will coordinate vendors, manage schedules, mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement, while staying current with new distribution equipment technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of equipment implementation experience.
• 2+ years of project-management experience.
• Data analysis using Excel/Access/SQL/Power BI required.
• CAD for equipment layout required.
• WCS and WMS experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with new distribution center startups.

Responsibilities

• Provide equipment and process engineering expertise at DCs with automated handling.
• Lead or co-lead work streams for deployment of highly automated systems.
• Manage vendors to meet schedule, functionality, rate, and quality.
• Lead automated equipment testing across project phases.
• Data analysis, cost estimating, layout, evaluation, vendor management, and PM.
• Support operations in learning and optimizing equipment.
• Stay updated on new distribution equipment technologies and best practices.
• Develop options to meet customer requirements and reduce cost.
• Collaborate across functions to deliver results and align stakeholders.
• Train site teams to become experts and develop automation talent.
