BayCare Health System is seeking a Manager Area Environmental Services for St. Joseph's Women’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. The role oversees EVS and laundry operations, drives infection-control programs, and manages budgets and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities include leading staffing, training, and performance management while ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering excellent customer service in a compliant, aseptic environment.

• Requires high school diploma or bachelor's degree.
• Environmental Services leadership experience is required (HS diploma: 8 years, with 5 years leadership).
• With a bachelor's: 5 years EVS experience, including at least 3 years in leadership.

• Develop and review programs; implement improvements and provide policy guidance to leadership.

• Prepare budget recommendations and manage vendor relationships and contracts.
• Lead hiring, training, promotion, evaluation, and disciplinary actions for EVS staff.
• Monitor productivity, metrics, and compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.
• Ensure resources and technology for excellent customer service while maintaining aseptic conditions.

• Shift Hours: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Position Summary

• Provides environmental services and laundry operational oversight for multiple hospitals or one large hospital.
• Plans, organizes, and directs environmentally responsible, cost-effective programs for infection control; hazardous, biohazardous, municipal, and regulated medical waste; recycling recovery; and waste prevention.
• Develops and reviews programs, recommends and implements improvements, and provides technical expertise and policy recommendations to leadership.
• Partners with Infection Control to address infection-control processes and biohazard and environmental concerns; serves as liaison to biohazard and waste-management franchise holders.
• Prepares budget recommendations and manages vendor relationships and contracts.
• Leads hiring, training, promotion, evaluation, and discipline of Environmental Services team members.
• Monitors productivity and performance metrics, staff development, program implementation, customer satisfaction, efficiency, work priorities, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
• Ensures team members have the resources and technology needed to provide excellent customer service while maintaining aseptic conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field.
• With a high school diploma: eight years of Environmental Services experience, including at least five years of leadership experience.
• With a bachelor's degree: five years of Environmental Services experience, including at least three years of leadership experience.
