Metropolitan Nashville International Airport Authority is seeking an Airport Duty Manager to oversee day-to-day airport operations and coordinate all operational sections to ensure safety, security and efficiency across the campus. This role serves as the front-line representative of airport leadership on a 24/7 basis, with rotating shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, aviation management, public administration or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in airport security, terminal airport operations, or airside operations.
• Valid Driver's License - Class D.
• ICS 100/200/300/400/700/800 Certifications within 180 days of hire.
• Airport Security Coordinator Certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains operational command for the BNA Airport campus and the safety and security of airfield, terminal, roadway systems, and facilities.
• Oversees shift activities to ensure work is performed in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Monitors coordination with MNAA departments and outside stakeholders to deploy resources as required.
• Implements incident management processes for small, medium, and large-scale incidents.
• Coordinates the airport’s response to IRROPS and emergencies and provides resolutions.

$84,911 (Min.) - $115,526 (Mid.) - $146,140 (Max.)

Job Summary

The Airport Duty Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of the Metropolitan Nashville International Airport and is charged with the communication and coordination for all airport authority operational sections to confirm a safe, secure and efficient campus. The Airport Duty Manager is the front-line representative of airport leadership and is charged with making the appropriate operational decision for all workgroups during normal and emergency situations on a 24/7/365 basis. This role requires involved knowledge of the various facets of airport operations to include the Airport Communications Center, airside operations, customer service, the Emergency Operations Center, landside operations, safety systems, security compliance and terminal operations. This position will be point for the decision-making processes on site and serves as the ranking staff member on campus during non-business hours. This role requires working rotating shifts in a 24x7 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintains operational command for the BNA Airport campus to include the safety and security of the airfield, terminal, roadway systems, airport communication center, customer service, parking operations and rental car facilities.
• Maintains constant awareness of changing conditions, activities and requirements affecting airport operations, analyze the impact, and implement the appropriate response protocols, as required.
• Oversees all shift activities including the coordination and monitoring of all functions to ensure work is performed in a consistent manner with airport policies, procedures, and regulations, and in accordance with airport standards and to ensure the safety and security of passengers, tenants, and employees.
• Ensures continued coordination with both MNAA departments as well as outside airport stakeholders to ensure that appropriate resources are deployed, as required.
• Implements incident management processes to ensure effective management of small, medium and large-scale incidents.
• Coordinates the airport’s response to critical incidents, irregular operations (IRROPS), and emergencies and provide resolutions to problems/issues.
• Monitors and inspects airport activities, properties, and facilities including monitoring the performance of airlines, tenants, concessionaires, and others to ensure their adherence to airport rules and regulations.
• Monitors and approves the use of shared-use equipment including gates, ticket counters, jet bridges, and baggage carousels to ensure critical equipment is available during irregular operations and emergencies.
• Provides direction and instruction on resolving critical incidences/situations, operational activities, security-related activity, security breaches, and violations of rules and regulations, etc.
• Reviews and maintains records and operational logs and prepare reports and correspondence.
• Investigates complaints, issues, concerns, and inquiries and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Operates with considerable independence, requiring the exercise of sound judgment and initiative.
• Ensures the proper use and compliance with the Airport’s Notification Systems.
• Ensures that plans and procedures (SOPS) are accurate, implementable, and well communicated among the airport, airlines, tenants, and other key stakeholders.
• Follows all safety regulations.
• Maintains regular and on-time attendance.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, aviation management, airway science, public administration, business administration, or in a related field related to the job.
• 2-4 years of experience in airport security, terminal airport operations, or airside airport operations.
• Valid Driver's License - Class D.
• ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 Certifications within 180 days of hire.
• Airport Security Coordinator Certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred

• 2-4 years of experience in a airport leadership capacity.
• 2-4 years of experience working at a medium or large hub airport in Airside, Terminal, or Landside Operations both in regular and irregular operations (IROPS).
• Certified Member of American Association of Airport Executives
• Part 107 License
