Job Summary

Manage daily operations of the sand mine, supervise salaried supervisors and hourly employees. Responsible for budgeting, mine planning, permitting, achieving operational goals, managing contracts, and community relations.

Job Responsibilities

• Achieve and maintain Zero4Life standards, support VFL, SIC, and SBO programs, and promote a healthy workforce.
• Track costs and ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Develop operational methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with planning and quality control staff to develop short- and long-term mining plans.
• Oversee production, equipment maintenance, purchasing, and permit compliance.
• Develop annual budgets, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and engage with the local community.
• Utilize KPIs to guide production and identify improvement areas.
• Coordinate inventory planning with sales and adhere to safety regulations.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of mine supervision experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal skills and computer proficiency, including MS Office.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus; willingness to learn mining software like Surpac Quarry.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physical labor as needed.
• Self-motivated team player focused on achieving goals.

Working Conditions

• Extended hours and overnight travel as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force, and to sit, walk, or stand for periods.
• Regular communication via talking and hearing.
