At GEICO, the State Pricing area handles our overall rate level in states. We work closely with State Management, New Product Pricing, Research and Development, and other teams to ensure state profit and growth for our private passenger auto lines of business. We're looking for managers to drive innovation, guide strategy, and work in partnership with other stakeholders while developing teams of actuarial analysts. This role can be filled at the manager or senior manager level, depending on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic planning and rate action
  • Lead analysis and understanding of state indications (i.e. trends, development)
  • Foster product innovation through state segmentation analysis
  • Build a team of thought-leaders with strong ownership and initiative
  • Collaborate seamlessly both internally and externally

Role Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant pricing experience, with 5 years preferred.
  • At least 3 years of project ownership and leadership experience.
  • At least 1 year of relevant managerial experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or analytical field.
  • Actuarial exam progress, insurance credentials (such as CPCU), and/or graduate degrees preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical software such as Excel. Experience and skill with SQL and PowerBI preferred.

  • Ability to lead and manage a team of analysts toward achieving company goals
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, professional oral or written manner, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers and other employees of the organization
  • Thorough understanding of insurance, including pricing, reserving, underwriting, competitive position and data quality
  • Working knowledge of insurance regulation and related business constraints
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the company and in the insurance marketplace

Annual Salary

$115,825.00 - $229,600.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
