Job summary

Astrana Health is hiring a Manager – Accounting (IPA) in Alhambra, CA, to lead day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role reports to the Director of Accounting and supports financial planning while maintaining a robust control environment.

Hybrid work structure with compensation in the $130,000–$145,000 range. CPA is required, with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including 2+ years in leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• 5+ years accounting experience with at least 2 in a leadership role.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and healthcare accounting practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct management and development of a team of accountants.
• Review IPA/RKK journal entries: capitation, claims, risk pools, AR/AP, and accrual entries.
• Maintain general ledger and monthly balance sheet analyses for multiple entities.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close.
• Collaborate with reporting team for SEC filings and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Handle internal and external ad-hoc requests.
• Assist external auditors as needed.

Description

As the Manager – Accounting (IPA), you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations of the company, reporting to the Director - Accounting. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and conduct insightful financial analysis. Working closely with the Director - Accounting and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the financial planning process, help maintain a robust financial control environment and contribute to the assessment and implementation of new financial systems and processes. You have a growth mindset and always look for ways to improve existing processes.

What You'll Do

• Direct management and development of a team of accountants.
• Review IPA/RKK related journal entries: capitation, claims, risk pools, AR/AP, and accrual related entries.
• Review, maintain and reconcile the general ledger on a monthly basis; prepare monthly balance sheet analyses for multiple assigned entities.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close.
• Work closely with the reporting team to provide accurate and timely information for SEC filing and to the external auditors
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Manage internal and external ad-hoc requests
• Work with external auditors to provide support as requested

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, as well as industry-specific accounting practices related to healthcare.
• Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Sage and advanced MS Office Suite skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

• Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where the expectation is to work both in office and at home on a weekly basis. The office is located at 1668 S Garfield Avenue, Alhambra, CA 91801
• The national target pay range for this role is $130,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location (current or future), experience, and other job-related factors.
