Job Overview

Do you enjoy turning complicated information into something clear and useful? Are you someone who notices when a process could work better, finds satisfaction in building organized systems, and likes using data to solve practical problems? THE·TEAM is seeking a Manager, Account Operations to support one account on our Brand Consulting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and creating the structure that helps a busy team operate effectively.

What You'll Do
  • Account operations and process improvement: Maintain and improve account workflows, trackers, and templates. Identify friction points and implement scalable solutions.
  • Budget tracking and reporting: Help project and account teams monitor approved budgets, actual spend, committed costs, and forecasts. Keep information current, flag inconsistencies or potential overages, and coordinate questions and follow-up with accounting and account leadership.
  • Financial workflow coordination: Lead the communication between the client budget manager, account team, and internal accounting for the monthly invoicing (accounts receivable) process, ensuring projects are funded timely and accurately.
  • Time tracking: Monitor team time-entry completion and accuracy, analyze hours by employee, project, and time period, identify unusual patterns or missing entries, and prepare monthly internal and client-facing reports.
  • Operational reporting and insights: Build and maintain Excel-based tools, status updates, dashboards, and clear PowerPoint or written summaries. Turn operational data into actionable observations, priorities, and recommendations.
  • Client and team support: Learn the client’s reporting requirements, budget processes, and relevant contractual and legal workflows. Support accurate, timely responses and maintain strong relationships with account team and client contacts.
  • Team onboarding and knowledge management: Support account-team onboarding, training on established processes, and maintenance of shared resources so new and existing colleagues can work effectively.
  • Quality, confidentiality, and continuous improvement: Review work for accuracy and consistency, handle sensitive client and business information appropriately, and look for opportunities to simplify recurring tasks without weakening controls.
What We're Looking For
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in account operations, business operations, project coordination, or process management; agency experience in creative, digital, sponsorship, experiential, or related environments is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong Excel skills, including organizing large datasets, building and maintaining trackers, using formulas and pivot tables, reconciling information, and presenting meaningful summaries. Comfort with Word and PowerPoint is also essential.
  • You don't need to be an accountant or a sponsorship industry expert. We're looking for someone with strong Excel and organizational skills, comfort working with budgets and operational information, an eye for accuracy, and a willingness to learn the account's financial and administrative workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize complex information, spot errors or missing details, manage deadlines, and document repeatable workflows.
  • Communicates information clearly and accurately, using written updates, discussions, or presentations as appropriate; able to tailor updates for leadership, clients, Finance, and day-to-day project teams.
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and accountability: independently move work forward, ask thoughtful questions, and know when to escape.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate respectfully with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Curiosity about the sports, entertainment, and sponsorship business, with a willingness to learn our clients’ needs and the services our teams deliver.
What Success Looks Like
  • Trackers and reports are accurate, current, easy to use, and consistently maintained.
  • Account leaders can quickly understand budget position, hours allocation, project status, and outstanding operational issues.
  • Questions and risks are identified early, with clear owners and practical next steps.
  • Recurring tasks become more efficient through documented processes and thoughtful improvements.
What You'll Enjoy About This Role
  • Making sense of complex information: You enjoy working with spreadsheets, organizing data, identifying patterns, and turning detailed information into useful insights.
  • Creating order and consistency: You find satisfaction in building reliable systems, maintaining accurate records, and making information easier for others to access and understand.
  • Solving practical problems: You like figuring out why something isn't working efficiently and developing a better approach.
  • Taking ownership: You appreciate having clearly defined responsibilities, the independence to manage your work, and the opportunity to recommend improvements.
  • Being the person who connects the dots: You enjoy understanding how different parts of an organization work together and ensuring important details don't fall through the cracks.
  • Making a meaningful contribution: You take pride in work that helps others succeed, even when much of that work happens behind the scenes.

An independent, time-bound case study will be part of the application process.

Base salary range: $50-60K, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.

Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
