Job summary

Subway is hiring a Manager in New York to lead daily operations, ensure guest satisfaction, and drive sales while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include staff recruitment, training, inventory control, and supporting local marketing initiatives. Strong communication, leadership, and POS system skills are required. Full-time positions with day/evening/weekend shifts available across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in a restaurant environment with supervising and training experience.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system is essential.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and reward outstanding team members.
• Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols and food safety codes.
• Maintain business records and analyze them to increase sales.
• Identify and contact prospective guests to promote sales.
• Support local and national marketing initiatives and prepare restaurant for new marketing windows.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Manager will focus on eight main things:

• Providing an excellent guest experience
• Ensuring that great food is prepared & served
• Keeping our restaurants functional, clean and beautiful
• Managing inventory and money control systems
• Coordinating local marketing initiatives, including community outreach

In addition to the role of a Manager, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Recruiting and rewarding outstanding Team members
• Ensuring safety and security protocols are followed. Including being aware of local and national healthy and food safety codes
• Maintaining business records and analyzing them to help increase sales
• Identifying and contacting prospective Guests to promote sales
• Supporting local and national marketing initiatives, ensuring restaurant is ready on every level for the beginning of a new marketing window
• Planning special events and promotions

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred

Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a restaurant environment, experience in supervising and training staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with all levels of team members. Computer knowledge is essential.

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
