Overview
Senior Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator — Location: McCalla AL plant — Work Arrangements: 100% on-site — Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Responsibilities
- Own Time and Attendance and payroll processing for the plant
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing, transmitting and reconciliation of hourly payroll for a bi-weekly pay cycle using a timekeeping software (Workday)
- Develop an expert level understanding of Workday timekeeping software and site payroll policies; provide training and technical support to the facility
- Ensure that pay codes and schedules are properly maintained in the timekeeping software
- Implement payroll procedures, monitor adherence and identify opportunities for coaching and process improvements
- Assist with investigation of payroll issues and correct timekeeping errors leading to inaccurate pay in a timely manner
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding by managing assignment of lockers, issuing employee badges and providing training in areas of expertise
- Manage site employee store including staffing, ordering, pricing, inventory and sales tax reporting
- Support site communication processes through plant emails, flyers and updating video monitors and bulletin boards etc
- Responsible for supporting the execution of plant events, meetings and visits as well as community relations activities
- Perform general administrative duties including greeting visitors, mail distribution, office supply inventory/ordering, FedEx shipments, insurance certificate tracking and reconciling miscellaneous invoices
- Perform recruiting and hiring activities for technician openings such as screening, scheduling, administering assessments and interviewing
- Manage local vendor relationships for employee uniforms and cafeteria vending products
- Provide timely and accurate reporting including but not limited to state census information, employee attendance, leaves of absence etc
- Process unemployment claims and may participate in unemployment hearings
- Assess plant processes in areas of responsibility, identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed
- Other duties as requested to support plant operations
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years payroll experience
- Demonstrates a high degree of diplomacy, confidentiality and discretion
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and able to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that most effectively supports the organization
- Willingness to occasionally work off-shifts or weekends as needed
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
- Experience with Enterprise software (Oracle/Workday)
