Job summary

sefl is offering an entry-level Management Trainee in its Operations Management Trainee Program in Florida. This 16-week program prepares you for your first leadership and supervisory responsibilities in operations.

You will learn transportation industry fundamentals, participate in leadership training, and work with Support Center teams; you may accompany an Account Manager on sales calls and drivers on local routes to gain hands-on insight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Transportation or Logistics or 2+ years related experience.
• Professional demeanor and appearance required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Drive history acceptable per company standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic principles of transportation industry, cross-dock operations, leadership communication and relationship building.
• Complete the leadership training program with guided, independent study.

• Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
• Occasionally accompany drivers on local delivery routes to understand freight delivery.

Job description

As a Management Trainee, you will participate in our Operations Management Trainee Program. This entry‑level training position consists of an intensive 16‑week program designed to prepare you for your initial leadership/supervisory role in operations.

Responsibilities:

• Learn the basic principles of the transportation industry, efficient cross‑dock operations, effective leadership communication, and relationship building skills.
• Complete the leadership training program requiring guided, independent study.
• Interface with appropriate Support Center and Service Center associates in the completion of various aspects of the training program daily.
• Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
• Accompany drivers on local delivery routes to gain an understanding of the freight delivery process on occasion.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or alternatively have at least two years of related work experience.
• Have an acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility with a readiness to relocate as needed.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening abilities, and maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Have basic computer skills and a very strong work ethic to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Average Annual Starting Pay: $50,000-$60,000 (pay may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications)
