Job summary

ClimbHire Search Services seeks an experienced Employment Litigation Associate to join a leading Chicago labor and employment practice. The attorney will handle management-side employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and related disputes, representing employers in lawsuits and administrative proceedings.

The successful candidate will have 4–7 years of employment litigation experience, strong writing and advocacy skills,

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar in good standing.
• 4–7 years of employment litigation experience, preferably representing employers.
• Experience handling management-side employment litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Experience managing litigation matters and handling depositions, discovery, and motion practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in federal and state court litigation, administrative proceedings, and other employment-related disputes.
• Manage all phases of employment litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, position statements, and other substantive legal documents.
• Advise and counsel management-side clients on a wide range of employment law issues and workplace matters.
• Represent employers before administrative agencies, including the EEOC and applicable state and local agencies.
• Develop litigation strategies and assess legal risks, exposure, and potential resolution strategies.
• Work collaboratively with partners and other attorneys while taking ownership of assigned matters.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
