Location: Environmental Services Department
Serves as the MST for the Custodian Supervisor II. Performs a variety of duties and is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned tasks. The position requires contact with the public, contractors, employees and other stakeholders. Completes correspondence involving the knowledge of and application of regulations, policies, and procedures. Use good judgment, exercise, and maintain high level of confidentiality, and communicate effectively. Performs duties consistent with clerical support.
This position may be extended or become permanent.

Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Typical Working Conditions: Ability to work in a very busy atmosphere. Ability to handle a variety of facility and public contacts both in person and over the phone with tact and courtesy. Able to speak and write effectively, understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal explanations and supervision. Able to answer phones, take messages and/or forward calls as appropriate
Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
Physical Demands
Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in this duty statement. Position requires prolonged sitting and extensive use of telephones, computers, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment. Incumbent will be working on a personal computer extended periods of time.

Department Information
The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
