National Experienced Workforce Solutions is hiring a part-time Management and Program Analyst for the National Park Service Affiliated Areas Program in the Alaska Regional Office, based in Anchorage. The role analyzes internal operations to improve efficiency for Aleutian World War II National Historic Area (ALEU) and AFAR programs.

The position requires in-depth knowledge of Alaska anthropology/history, with a BA/BS and at least 5 additional years of related experience, and proficiency in MS

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and evaluating the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, and/or management activities occurring within the ALEU history and AFAR program.
• Analyze and evaluate management policies, procedures, guidelines, and processes. Recommend changes that meet agency and bureau initiatives and strategic objectives, and ensure compliance with current laws, regulations, and policies.
• Prepares detailed action plans and schedules for long- and short-range project accomplishments and ensures that project plans are consistent with management goals and objectives.
• Analyzes existing and new regulations, and/or program requirements to determine impacts on the ALEU and AFAR program. Identifies resource needs (e.g. staffing, facilities, agreements, and projects) to support ALEU and the AFAR program.
• Advises management on a variety of opportunities and options to increase overall programmatic effectiveness.
• Assisting with planning, coordinating, and developing budget proposals for various ALEU projects or AFAR program needs.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

• Air travel anticipated: One or two trips are possible for meetings with affiliated staff.
