Job summary

The City of New Orleans Government is seeking a Market Manager to work with the French Market Vendor Committee to screen new vendors and merchandise, while maintaining strong vendor relationships and addressing issues to uphold market standards.

In addition, the role includes supervising the Flea Market Cashier’s Office, assisting with cashier tasks when needed, and reporting changes to market policies and procedures to staff and vendors to ensure awareness and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of professional administrative experience.
• Two years of this experience must have been in vendor, booth, or retail management.
• Additional experience in merchandise management is preferred.

The Market Manager will work with the French Market Vendor Committee to screen new vendors and new merchandise. They will also maintain strong relationships with vendors and vendor representatives, resolving problems and overseeing the issuing of violation notices for vendors not compliant with market policy and standards. As part of this, the Market Manager will also report on and prominently display changes to policies and procedures, ensuring market employees and vendors alike are aware of the policies and procedures and any changes. In addition, the Market Manager will supervise the operations of the Flea Market Cashier’s Office and assist with cashier tasks when needed; and related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
