Job summary

Referment is partnering with a global investment firm to add an associate to its Management Company Accounting team within Financial Operations. The role owns the recurring close, reporting, and control environment for US and international management companies, with opportunities to modernize processes through AI and automation.

You will manage close activities, prepare financial and ad hoc reports for leadership, support regulatory filings, and collaborate across teams to improve efficiency

Qualifications

• Two years of accounting experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field; CPA required.
• Solid understanding of the recurring close and reporting cycle.

Referment is working with a global investment firm adding an associate to its Management Company Accounting team within Financial Operations. The team owns the books, financial reporting, and control environment for the firm's US and international management companies. You'll take real ownership of the recurring close, reporting, and regulatory processes while helping to modernize the function through generative AI and automation.

The Role

• Manage recurring monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reporting for the team and firm leadership, with accuracy and timeliness.
• Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements and related filings.
• Help design and adopt generative AI and automation tools that make close, reporting, and regulatory workflows more efficient and reliable.
• Partner with colleagues across Financial Operations and Legal and Compliance to research questions, address reporting needs, and improve processes.

What We're Looking For

• At least two years of accounting experience, ideally within alternative asset management, financial services, or public accounting.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a CPA — the CPA is required.
• A solid understanding of core accounting concepts and the recurring close and reporting cycle.
• A forward-looking mindset on generative AI and automation, with genuine interest in applying new tools to everyday work.
• Keen attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and collaborative communication, with discretion around sensitive information.

This could suit a CPA from public accounting or financial services who wants to move in-house, own a monthly close end to end, and help bring AI-assisted workflows into a finance function.
