City of New York’s NYC Aging Department seeks a dynamic Management Auditor to oversee independent CPA audits, verify proper use of funds, and ensure compliance with fiscal guidelines. The role reports through the Audit: Close Out unit and supports nonprofits with corrective actions.

The position requires a relevant degree with auditing/finance credits and professional audit experience or CPA/ CIA certification, strong writing skills, and high Excel proficiency. NYC residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 24 credits in auditing, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, law, quantitative or qualitative research, mathematics, data science, management, public/business administration, computer science/IT, or related field.
• One of the following: one year of auditing experience (GAGAS, financial/internal/IT); or NYS CPA license; or IIA CIA certification.

Responsabilités

• Provide oversight of draft audit reports by independent CPA firms for accuracy and compliance.
• Verify funds are used for services and deliverables per guidelines; ensure reports meet Audit Guide and requirements.
• Evaluate findings and follow up with nonprofits on corrective actions and implementation.
• Serve as liaison and provide technical assistance to CPA firms and nonprofits on deadlines, deficiencies, and costs.
• Review financial schedules and contract closeout documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Complete special projects for the Audit: Close Out unit.
