Job Summary

The position requires teaching the writing sessions of the undergraduate course. Job Description Summary. Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. All Faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; committed to effective use of technology including distance learning; and provide service to the College, University and Community. Assignments will include teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off‑campus sites within our region. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Attends and teaches class at regularly scheduled times and holds regular office hours
  • Prepares syllabi, instruction materials, coordinates lectures, tests, and evaluates student performance
  • Maintains highest possible standards of classroom and/or online instruction
  • Keeps abreast of new information and developments in field of instruction
  • Actively participates in institutional meetings as requested (Department)
  • Maintains professional skills through regular professional development, and other activities appropriate to higher education faculty
Other Duties
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Course Coordinator

Required Qualifications

Master of Business Administration or a specialized Master's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution with eighteen (18+) credit hours related to the course topic.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Postsecondary teaching experience
  • Training or expertise in business writing and critical thinking/problem‑solving instruction
