Job summary

Jobtailor in Lombard, IL seeks a Radiologic Technologist specializing in mammography to perform procedures, position patients, and document findings according to department standards.

You will work under radiologist direction, assist with stereotactic biopsies when trained, maintain image quality, and uphold patient comfort and confidentiality while following safety protocols. ARRT mammography certification and Illinois licensure required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced Mammography certification.
• Active ARRT status maintained through continuing education requirements.
• Illinois State Licensure (IEMA).
• CPR Certification.
• Experience with stereotactic biopsies or willingness to be trained.
• Mammography experience preferred but not required.
• Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to present required.
• Knowledge of computer-based applications, email, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner.
• Follow department protocols and specific radiologist direction.
• Corroborate patient clinical history with procedures and document information according to department standards
• Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions, obtain cooperation, and minimize anxiety
• Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices
• Position patients and equipment to demonstrate the area of interest
• Explain breast compression while respecting patient ability and comfort
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies
• Participate in staff meetings
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, physicians, and healthcare team members
• Maintain an orderly and clean work area
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information
• Maintain adequate department supply levels
