Northwestern Memorial is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging, including mammography and DEXA scans, with responsibilities spanning biopsy assistance and needle localization. You will be the patient-facing first line for breast imaging needs in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, accurate image production, and the ability to manage exam flow while maintaining documentation accuracy in the medical

• Perform screening and diagnostic breast procedures including mammography and DEXA scan.
• Assist with stereotactic breast biopsies and breast needle localizations.
• Functions as the first line interface with patients in breast imaging needs.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administrates contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.

The salary range for this position is $41.82 - $54.37 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

Performs screening and diagnostic breast health center procedures - including mammography, DEXA scan. Assists with stereotactic breast biopsies and breast needle localizations. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their breast imaging needs.
