Indiana University Health is seeking a day shift PRN Mammography Technologist for its Arnett Medical Offices in West Lafayette, Indiana. This role involves performing quality diagnostic and screening mammographic studies while ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Ideal candidates will have 0-3 years of experience, BLS certification, and must be a Registered Technologist - Radiography. Additional certifications in Mammography must be obtained post-hire.

Qualifications

• Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography.
• Certification in Mammography must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening mammographic studies ensuring patient safety.
• Review prior imaging for improved tissue visualization.
• Assist with ultrasound and MR guided breast procedures.

This is a day shift PRN Mammography Technologist position at IU Health Arnett Medical Offices in West Lafayette. Working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, requiring a minimum commitment of 8 hours per month with shifts up to 10 hours.

Job Description

Performs quality diagnostic and screening mammographic studies utilizing a knowledge of anatomic positions. Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Reviews prior imaging to attain and/or improve tissue visualization as compared to prior studies. Complies with FDA MQSA Regulations. Assists with mammographs, ultrasound, and MR guided breast localizations and biopsies. May perform screening breast ultrasound procedures as required by local facility.

Qualifications

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Requires certification in Mammography (M) through the ARRT within 12 months of hire. If performing breast ultrasound, must obtain credential through ARDMS: RDMS(BR); or ARRT: RT(S)(BS), or RT(R)(M)(BS); within 18 months of hire.
• Requires current license through Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Currently meets Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements, preferred.
• Requires ability to learn breast ultrasound procedures, if applicable.
