Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indiana is seeking a Full-time Mammographer to perform diagnostic and screening mammography using a mobile coach serving district 7. You will ensure patient safety, explain the process, position patients correctly and adjust equipment as needed.

Candidates must hold ARRT RT(R) and Mammography (M) credentials with an active Indiana ISDH license, plus BLS certification, and be prepared to assist with ultrasound and MR-guided procedures when required.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and adjust positions as needed.
• ARRT RT(R) licensure and Mammography M certification within 12 months.
• ISDH Radiologic Technologist license active.
• MQSA compliance preferred.
• Willingness to learn breast ultrasound procedures.

Job description

Performs quality diagnostic and screening mammographic studies utilizing a knowledge of anatomic positions. Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Reviews prior imaging to attain and/or improve tissue visualization as compared to prior studies. Complies with FDA MQSA Regulations. Assists with mammographs, ultrasound, and MR guided breast localizations and biopsies. May perform screening breast ultrasound procedures as required by local facility.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Requires certification in Mammography (M) through the ARRT within 12 months of hire. If performing breast ultrasound, must obtain credential through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): RDMS(BR); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): RT(S)(BS), or RT(R)(M)(BS); within 18 months of hire.
• Requires current license through Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Currently meets Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements, preferred.
• Requires ability to learn breast ultrasound procedures, if applicable.
